Glam-rock king Mika performed a free show on Good Morning America this morning and I was pumped to trek it down to Bryant Park at 6am and dance to the infectious musical fun. Sadly, New York downpours and flash floods kept me away.
I mean, I love Mika, and if you’re a fan of falsetto-laced-electronic-british-pop-rock with Freddie Mercury-esque vocals then you likely share this love, but I hate to be wet. Drizzling I can handle, but I do not fare well with unwanted daytime/clothes-on showers. Therefore I’ll see him when he books a Seattle show, and he will, because his music’s awesome and Seattle’s full of awesome people who like awesome music.
Check out his album “Life in Cartoon Motion,” and his current fun fun fun single, “Big Girl (You are Beautiful).” He’s sold nearly 3 million albums worldwide since february, but under 200k in the US. Be one of them.
***** CANCELLED: the rain that scared me away scared everyone else too! He rescheduled and gave a free show at 1:30pm today in the village and I MISSED IT. I should never go half a day without checking Perez Hilton. Lesson learned.
